Launch failures - which games we give up and we support

If I told you that you would disappoint Cyberpunk 2077 at any time between 2012 and 2019, would you believe me? Hell, even during most of 2020, everyone expected that Cyberpunk 2077 is the greatest game of all time, but in a way that only 2020 could be successful, our expectations have been disappointed. Although the most recent examples and perhaps the most important launch of chess, this is certainly not the first. The speech of the virtual town-these days is how CD Projekt RED can eventually turn the tide in and out cyberpunk cyber gutter. Can they do it? Sometimes the answer to the future lies in the past, or something like that.

Video games have high expectations for a long time. The first really big game launch that catches my eye is Halo 3. Halo: Combat Evolved was huge, Halo 2 and Halo 3 was huge was supposed to be the best of all. And Halo 3 was great, but the hype that had accumulated on the road to its release had reached a critical mass before launch day. It was then that I learned that no matter how good of a game, with enough anticipation, there will be greater expectations than it can offer. For the promotion and advertising, there is no upper limit on the hype a game can generate, but if Halo 3 was released a year later, the fans would they loved as much as they ? What is the point of this story? Well, that was an example of highly anticipated and really good game at launch.

Come back to reality, we are a week and half of the output Cyberpunk 2077. This game had been publicized and begged every year since 2012. All this attention, all this hype, all this anticipation began to grow like a cancer . It became more than what the game could offer. Not only that, but Cyberpunk 2077 has not even been launched with acceptable quality. And not only that did not what people hoped, but it did not work well. Now I'm not here to destroy the work spent on it since successfully or not, 8 years of hard work on the part of developers should be admired, but where do we go from here? Although it seems long, we are still at the beginning of the output phase of Cyberpunk and CDPR doing its best to address them. Bless them. It remains to ask: will we be there to see the game at its best and become the return of the century? Or will we take the next big thing and let it die?

Speaking of return of the century, we already have an example in No Man's Sky. Remember the time when before the release of No Man's Sky and people were expecting it to be the greatest game of all time? Then it was launched and it was nothing like we had been promised. Sound familiar? A bit like Cyberpunk 2077 today, No Man's Sky came out with very little content and many bugs. It was like a year before the players see it as playable. 4 years after its initial release and No Man's Sky is a satisfying experience space exploration, survival and production. It's not for everyone, but it has a total of 180. This is the best scenario for Cyberpunk 2077 at this stage.

Worst case, but I think it's pretty unlikely, is Anthem; the disappointment of BioWare. Cyberpunk 2077 is at a crossroads where CDPR can work his ass (after working his butt for the last 8 years, then handed her buttocks) and fix what is wrong with the game, or they can somehow keep making errors and take the road of the hymn and fall into obscurity. We approach the second anniversary of the release of Anthem, and BioWare and EA are still trying to save the game with this so-called Anthem 2.0, but it is very unlikely they will achieve the success they had originally hoped .

Let's talk about Fallout 76 now. Whether or not it comes back to its miserable launch is to be debated. Not only is the game out with bugs on the Wazoo (which is unfortunately typical of a Bethesda game), but its promotional items from the real world were also very disappointing. The Fallout 76 jackets that look like outdoor tarpaulins and nylon and non-canvas sports bags were particularly disastrous. Meanwhile, for a while, the game's fixes corrected some bugs, but introduced others. Updates have become a problem rotating door. 2 years after its launch, Fallout 76 was mainly away from the video game news, for the better or for the worst. We do not hear about problems as we have done in its infancy, but we do not really hear about success. Is it the kind of heritage waiting for CyberPunk 2077?

Another close and expensive game in the heart of your old Zane boyfriend is Marvel's Avengers. Like Fallout 76, Marvel's Avengers was launched with a ton of bugs. It also lacked variation in content. Always does it, certainly. However, the game still has only a few months and Crystal Dynamics apparently plans to publish much more content in the future, free of charge. Once again, the content will probably be more the same in terms of gameplay, but the hardware fans will host the extra characters. Although Marvel's Avengers did not meet expectations at its initial launch, only time will tell us if it will reach a possible success or if it will be cemented in territory of dead game.

This piece does not necessarily concern CyberPunk 2077, but given the timing, it constitutes a perfect centerpiece. The game is still new. He sold enough to be profitable before the day of the launch and beat the simultaneous player records on Steam, then does this game still have a nice future or expire like a recently mature banana? It's players to decide. The first impressions are everything and CyberPunk 2077 did not make a good first impression, but games in similar situations spilled him. Other games in similar situations did not do it. When the CDPR will wait for the game, and I am convinced that it will do it, will players be there for all that worth it? Let's check in about a year. And hey, maybe Anthem 2.0 will be available by then too.

In your opinion, what future is waiting for CyberPunk 2077? Or one of those other games besides? Let us know in the comments below.
